Attendees will learn the unique governance needs of nonprofit boards. This course is designed to ensure existing and new boards get the fundamentals right. Together, participants will explore the role of the board as a whole, as well as how individuals can utilize their skills and experiences to further the organization’s mission. The result is a clear roadmap to build proper governance efficacy, code of conduct, committee charters and a robust partnership with the executive director. The session is designed for a combination of newly appointed and experienced executive directors and board members and is most effective when both attend together. This session is essential for new or first-year board members and is appropriate for returning directors who want an update. Certification: 6.5 CFRE points are approved for this session.
