Southwest Florida - Today, in a move to better connect businesses, education, and job seekers, CareerSource Southwest Florida launched an online regional Business Workforce Guide as a single access point for information on a variety of employment and training resources, labor market information and area demographics.
“For a long time we have discussed having a single point of access where businesses and job seekers can get information about recruiting, retention, internships/apprenticeships, training programs and labor market information. It’s nice to see something come to fruition,” said Janet Watermeier, Horizon Council Workforce Taskforce Chair. “I’m sure this guide will continue to develop into a vital and critical resource for area businesses and job seekers,” Watermeier said.
“The resource guide will live on our website, www.careersourcesouthwestflorida.com, and will house information on employment and training initiatives from most area training providers and include a variety of recruitment, expansion and retention strategies,” said Joe Paterno, Executive Director for CareerSource Southwest Florida. “The guide is just one tool of many that can help strengthen our economy and function as a tool to research labor market and demographic information along with employment and training initiatives. We are happy to be a part of a regional effort to build a stronger relationship between business, education and job seekers,” Paterno stated.
