BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (July 3, 2014) – Discovery Day Academy and Atilus, LLC , nominated by the Bonita Springs Area Chamber, are now among the finalists in the annual Florida Companies to Watch awards program, presented by GrowFL, in association with the Edward Lowe Foundation.
Chosen from a pool of more than 150 second-stage growth companies, the list of finalists represent nearly $600 million in annual revenue and employ more than 2,800 full-time equivalent employees.
Christine Ross, President & CEO of the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, said, “Here are two more impressive young companies successfully growing their business from Southwest Florida. We are proud of their accomplishments and encourage the community to visit their websites to learn more about their innovative products and services.”
Developed by the Edward Lowe Foundation, Florida Companies to Watch is a distinctive awards program that is specifically designed to seek out second-stage businesses from a wide range of industries representing all areas of the state, not just those in major metropolitan areas. In addition to an evaluation on past growth and projected success, applicant companies are judged according to their special strengths and impact in their markets, communities and within the state – deeming them “worth watching.”
Discovery Day Academy is a school focused on educating the whole child with a combination of content knowledge, timeless skills and 21st century approaches to ensure the complete development of students.
Atilus, LLC is an Internet advertising agency, driven by achieving results, offering consulting, strategy, and execution of mid-to-large scale web development and online marketing initiatives.
Atilus President, Zach Katkin, said, “Atilus is typically a behind-the-scenes company. Our clients have been on Oprah, Huffington Post, Shark Tank, Lifetime Television, and include some of the largest software vendors in the world. We’re thankful and honored to receive this initial designation as a finalist as it’s really a measure of the amazing team we’ve been able to build and is a reflection of all they have and will accomplish. But we are even more thankful that we have the support of the Southwest Florida community and the Bonita Springs Chamber in particular in helping us to achieve all we’ve achieved and getting us in front of this opportunity.”
The Florida Companies to Watch program consists of two rounds of selections. Now that the finalists have been selected, these companies will advance to final judging, where they will be further evaluated based on their performance in the marketplace, innovative products, services or processes, philanthropy and empowered employees. The winners will be announced in late August.
The 2014 honorees will be celebrated at the awards ceremony October 23 at the Hard Rock Live at CityWalk, Orlando.
