INTERIOR DESIGN ‘UNMATCHED’ AT NEW $70 MILLION THE TERRACES AT BONITA SPRINGS

Newest Generation of Senior Living Communities Nears Opening

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – The final stages of construction are underway on The Terraces at Bonita Springs, a new $70 million dollar senior living community at 26455 Tamiami Trail in Bonita Springs. In addition to exterior work and landscaping, teams are completing work on interior design, architecture and décor. The Terraces design inspiration, the Mediterranean revival, is described as an eclectic blend of Italian and Spanish elements, evoking a warm and comfortable old-world feel filled with colorful and inviting details.
“Many of the interior pieces and features are things you won’t find anywhere else in the U.S., much less a senior living community,” says Bridget Bohacz, interior designer of The Terraces. “We traveled throughout Italy and Spain for design inspiration and to procure original artwork to make The Terraces special and authentic.”

Special architectural and design features at The Terraces include Italian sail vaults, Italian-style stone fireplaces and tiled floors, old-world wood ceilings and Spanish-style iron chandeliers. The interiors will also display Italian-made furniture, Murano glass, majolica from Deruta and original Tuscan art, alabaster and ceramic pieces. Splashing fountains of Tuscan motif both inside and outside of The Terraces will promote an elegant and peaceful environment.

“The building is stunning. The size, scale and layers of architectural detail are unmatched,” says Troy Hart, president of The Terraces and SantaFe Senior Living, the community’s non-profit sponsor. Our residents have an appreciation for art, culture and design, and I know they will be thrilled with the attention to detail and the passion that is displayed in all of the décor and design elements.”

The exterior of The Terraces complements the interior design, with terra cotta tile roofing, Spanish turrets, arcades with Roman arches and a variety of other architectural embellishments.

“The physical features of the community and individual apartments are just as far-reaching as the activities and lifestyle options seniors will find here,” says Ross Dickmann, executive director of The Terraces. “The newest generation of senior living communities is designed for older adults who desire far more than retirement communities of yesterday. The Terraces is catered to older adults who embrace an active retirement and are looking to enjoy themselves to the fullest.”

The Terraces at Bonita Springs is scheduled to open this summer and will offer maintenance-free living, chef-prepared meals at several dining venues, a sky lounge, fitness center, swimming pool, spa, as well as an array of social and wellness activities and lifestyle events. The Terraces will feature 144 one-, two- and three-bedroom independent living apartment homes, and lifetime access to on-site health care, including 48 assisted living, 40 skilled nursing and 18 memory support suites.
