New Organization Seeking Support for High Growth Entrepreneurship

(NAPLES, FLORIDA) November 22, 2013 – Newly-formed venture development organization Fusion Pointe ( shared its mission with an enthusiastic, at-capacity audience of entrepreneurs, investors and civic, philanthropic and business leaders on Monday, November 18. Designed to “encourage, accelerate and expand the innovation economy in Southwest Florida,” Fusion Pointe hopes to open its doors to high growth tech entrepreneurs in Q2 of 2014.

The nonprofit is building resources and partnerships so it can begin providing a combination of capital and high impact technical assistance to promising young startups in the region.  Fusion Pointe Vice Chair Scott Relf was encouraged by the community’s enthusiasm at the kickoff event. “We’ve known there are entrepreneurs here eager to access the type of assistance Fusion Pointe hopes to provide,” says Relf. “This event was the first step in sharing our goals and making connections that will help us marshal the expert and financial resources we need to hit the ground running.”

Fusion Pointe is actively engaging with foundations, other entrepreneurial support providers, government leaders and higher education institutions to develop partnerships and establish the organization’s role in the continuum of available entrepreneurial support. “This is about bringing people together and leveraging collective resources to create more investor-ready companies that will launch, grow and stay in Southwest Florida,” says Steve Walling, Fusion Pointe Board Chair.

“There are a lot of talented, smart, experienced business people in this region that could be part of a future entrepreneurial success story,” says Relf. “We’re trying to find those prospective mentors, investors and funders right now to set this all in motion.” Community members interested in learning how they can participate should email Relf at
