Southwest Florida International Airport Reports January Traffic

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 18, 2014) – During January, 778,163 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 3 percent compared to January 2013.

The traffic leader in January was Delta with 167,165 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (130,659), JetBlue (83,484), Spirit Airlines (75,525) and US Airways (73,344).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 7,857 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 5.9 percent compared to January 2013. Page Field saw 8,088 movements, a 2.2 percent increase from January 2013. In addition, more than 2.8 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in January 2013, a decrease of 4.8 percent compared to January 2013.
