Algenol Bifuels name #3 Global and #1 American Company Among Biofuels Diget's 50 Hottest Companies in Bioenergy

Fort Myers, FL - Algenol Biofuels has been named the 3rd hottest company in bioenergy globally, and the hottest American company according to industry publication, Biofuels Digest. Each year, this publication identifies the top international companies in bioenergy and ranks the top 50 companies seen as the “hottest,” defined by Biofuels Digest as “an ideal blend of visibility and credibility.”

“We could not be happier,” said Paul Woods, Founder and CEO of Algenol Biofuels, “this is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Algenol team.” Algenol Biofuels is a global biotechnology company, headquartered in Ft. Myers, Florida with over 200 employees commercializing its patented algae technology platform for production of the four most important fuels (ethanol, gasoline, jet, and diesel fuel). Algenol uses proprietary algae, sunlight, carbon dioxide and saltwater for highyield, low cost, fuel production at $1.30 per gallon. These novel, low---cost techniques recycle and monetize carbon dioxide from industrial sources, do not use farmland or food crops, and have the ability to provide freshwater.

Rankings were announced live, last night, at the Advanced Bioeconomy Leadership Conference in San Francisco, California. Company ranking was determined by several factors including the votes of an international panel of expert judges from across the industry. "Algenol made a huge breakthrough with the selectors this year, in rising to #3 worldwide in the Hot 50 Rankings — we've seen in recent years how Algenol's spirit of innovation has translated into the backing of key strategies, the expansion of the facilities in Florida, and progress towards scale,” said Biofuels Digest Editor and Publisher, Jim Lane, “The combination of clear vision and milestone-based progress has proven to be the right combination.”

“This honor could not have come at a better time as we are extremely close to announcing our first commercial facility,” said Woods, “this is an exciting next step in our company’s development that is poised to revolutionize the way the world is fueled.”
