Southwest Florida International Airport Reports October Traffic

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov.18, 2014) – During October, 503,243 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 5.2 percent compared to October 2013. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 4.4 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in October was Delta with 109,290 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (79,463), JetBlue (63,224), US Airways (61,723) and American (46,585).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 5,107 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 4.8 percent compared to October 2013. Page Field saw 8,295 movements, a 25 percent increase from October 2013. In addition, slightly more than 2.7 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in October 2014, an increase of 4.1 percent compared to October 2013.
