Charter Review Commission to hold off-site meetings
Fort Myers, FL, June 11, 2015 -The Lee County Charter Review Commission have held two public meetings, April, 23, 2015 at Ida Baker High School Cafeteria, Cape Coral, FL. (District 1), and Florida Southwestern State College, Ft. Myers, FL. (District 2).
The Commission will meet in BOCC District 3 at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Estero High School Auditorium, 21900 River Ranch Rd., Estero, FL 33928. The Commission is seeking input from the public regarding any proposed amendments to the County Charter.
“We want to ensure citizens have access to the Commission, and we want input from across the county,” said Ed Volz, who was elected commission chair at its inaugural meeting March 11.
The Lee County Charter Review Commission comprises 15 members appointed by Lee County Commissioners. They serve for 18 months with the purpose of reviewing the Home Rule Charter and proposing any amendments or revisions, which may be placed on the general election ballot.
