Construction of the Bonita Springs Downtown Improvements Project Set to Begin in August!

The City of Bonita Springs is excited to announce that construction of the Bonita Springs Downtown Improvements Project begins in August.  City staff and the public information consultant, Cella Molnar & Associates (CMA) have developed a community awareness campaign to keep property owners, businesses, event planners, and the general public informed on  construction activities throughout the construction process.

In early August, a flyer will be distributed to inform property owners, business owners/tenants, residents, and interested parties of the upcoming project, what to expect once construction starts, what the construction phasing is, and who to contact with questions or concerns.  A 24-hour toll-free telephone hotline, website address, and email will be provided in the flyer.

The City and CMA staff will be contacting all event planners in August to schedule meetings concerning the various Downtown events to discuss the event logistics and construction activities and assist the event planners with any issues.

CMA will work as an extension of the construction manager, Wright Construction Group, and City staff to provide the community with up-to-date construction information and ensure the public is informed about aspects of the project.  CMA staff will attend weekly construction meetings to ensure upcoming activities are relayed to the public prior to the event.  In addition, we will have telephone contact with the contractor 24-hours per day.  This provides staff the ability to resolve issues immediately and “get the word out” to the public via flyers, email or media in the event unanticipated traffic or utility disruptions occur.

The City and the project team are committed to keeping the public informed of construction activities and working with the public to solve issues that arise during construction.

The project website is being updated with new information about construction as it becomes available
