Southwest Florida International Airport Reports October Traffic


FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 24, 2015) – During October, 535,921 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 6.5 percent compared to October 2014. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 4.3 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in October was Delta with 111,135 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (88,977), JetBlue (78,790), US Airways (56,222) and American (47,938).  

Southwest Florida International Airport had 5,174 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), an increase of 1.3 percent compared to October 2014. Page Field saw 7,783 movements, a 6.2 percent decrease from October 2014. In addition, more than 2.8 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in October 2015, an increase of 3.6 percent compared to October 2014.
