Southwest Florida International Airport Recieves Award for TSA PreCheck Campaign

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT RECEIVES AWARD FOR TSA PRECHECK CAMPAIGN  


FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 21, 2016) — The Lee County Port Authority (LCPA), operator of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), was recognized by the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) at the 2016 Local Image Awards in Fort Myers. LCPA received an Award of Distinction and a Judges’ Award for its Southwest Florida International Airport TSA PreCheck
 Campaign.

LCPA created a promotional campaign for a temporary TSA Pre
ü
 enrollment center at Southwest Florida International Airport in December 2015. The launch was so successful it set an airport record for the most daily enrollments by a two-agent office and resulted in the decision to open a permanent center at RSW in 2016.  

The Southwest Florida Chapter of FPRA conducts the Local Image Awards annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs and to encourage and promote the development of public relations professionalism in Southwest Florida. They have become a standard of excellence and demonstrate the best of innovation, planning and design in the region. An Award of Distinction is given in each category to an entry that meets the standards of excellence set by the judges. A Judges’ Award can be given to any outstanding entry that has achieved maximum public relations results while using a minimum amount of money.  

Established in 1938, the Florida Public Relations Association is the oldest public relations organization in the United States. FPRA is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida. The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association is dedicated to programs and activities that enhance the success of public relations professionals in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties.
